GENERAL BACKGROUND
Dear Sir/Madam: Please accept very warm regards. I am responding with reference to your matrimonial ad. I am a Developmental and Management Practitioner by training and profession. This year, I am also thinking for marriage with a highly educated (BA/MA), Job Holder and Brahamin/Chhetri girl. The reason for setting all these minimum criteria are to thoroughly empower the prospective lady life partner and build her socially, mentally, emotionally, psychologically and financially independent. I have strongly determined visions for the future and I expect that my life partner should play the role of catalyst to materialize them into the reality. At the age of 40, either I want to see myself as a NGO Owner or International Level Developmental Practitioner or an Entrepreneur/Businessman. At the age of 45, I want to obtain a PhD Degree from abroad and I expect that my life partner should also be serious for her own career and total personality development as in a long run she has to interact with the international communities for the entire business deals. However, reality talks lauder than dreams! I am, in fact, a person with struggle who never received any parental supports from the age of 16. I always gave first priority for my self-development. CAREER SUMMARY
Raj K Pandey (31) started his career in 1990 with Save the Children-Norway (then Redd Barna), a founder member of International Save the Children Alliance. He also upgraded himself with education, knowledge and skill. Consequently, Save the Children Norway not only groomed him but also promoted twice in admin capacities during his tenure from January 1990 to November 1997.
He moved to the Japan International Cooperation Agency/Japan Medical Association (JICA/JMA) funded and self-implemented School and Community Health Project (SCHP) as a technical staff and worked with JICA/JMA from 1997-October 1999. JICA/JMA also promoted him within 8 months of his services. He worked there directly with the backward grassroots communities in rural areas of Nepal and acquired fieldwork experience from community-based developmental programs along with project management.
During October 1999-October 2001, he worked with the UK Government’s Department For International Development (DFID) funded Rural Access Programme (RAP) as an Administrative Officer. From very inception of RAP project designing phase, he was engaged in admin support jobs for project management, administration, logistics arrangement, accounts keeping and new office set-up, etc. 13 British and 12 local Consultants were involved for GBP30 million’s RAP project preparatory design purpose during ‘99-2001.
From 2001, he worked with the interdisciplinary group of regional and international experts at UNFPA, Country Technical Services Team For South And West Asia (CST/SAWA Countries). He rendered his services to advisory group of Consultants that composed from different UN agencies. However, he took time-off from UN job at UNFPA in May 2002 to start radio profession.
During May 02-May 03, he produced & presented informative, educative and advocacy oriented; society focused; interactive radio programs "Our Concerns" and “Development’s Friend” with HBC94FM Radio. He mainly advocated about public concerned national burning issues on socio-economy, development, governance, human rights, poverty, minority, gender, children etc. that are related with the civil societies. This radio programs made him popular among the developmental professionals in the Kathmandu.
During May 03-December 04, he worked with the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers under the UK Government's Department For International Development (DFID) funded Strengthening the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Project through ESP. His major responsibility was to support in strengthening Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
From January-June 05, he worked with the UK Government’s DFID/Enabling State Programme-Nepal and coordinated for 6 months PM’s Office Strengthening Project extended activities, hand over/clean up. Latter on it is suspended due to Nepal’s political reasons.
June 05-to Date, he is doing Freelancing Consultancy for the USAID/NDI and USAID/IFFAS to prepare reports and other activities, which are irregular so that he is also approaching and negotiating to INGOs, Embassies and Donor Agencies for permanent jobs and some have offered few regular jobs but he rejected them due to low level of salary. But, he will sure start a job before his marriage!
