NEWS IN PICTURES. SAJHA INFO. AUGUST 21, 2014

Kathmandu—Following the publication of the image above, in which an unknown “celebrity” models a hariyo pote, a piece of jewelry symbolizing not only a woman’s passage from a girl to a married woman but also her heightened position in society as an adult who is respected and is capable of running a household, which is, in a way, the microcosm of the society at large, no one was murdered, beaten, or had their lives threatened, sources reported Thursday.

Some celibate dudes were reportedly offended by the image claiming that unmarried women wearing potes would make it even more difficult and perplexing for their mothers to find them a suitable bride, sources confirmed that upon seeing it, they simply shook their heads, rolled their eyes, and continued on with their day.
