As we have spend our years outside of our native country Nepal, we have gone through both good and bad experiences. We made mistakes and learned from it, we saw others making mistakes and we learned from it. We were advised by your friends, relatives, parents and as we grew up, we paved our path towards maturity.

Lets share some our experiences both bitter and sweet. Things you wished you should have done and things you wish you should have avoided but ended up doing it? You may also share the advices that you received from your wellwishers that you value and take it integral part of your life. Lets learn from each others mistakes and valuable advices....

Here goes mine...

Do finish your education on time. It is better to work harder now and feel better for the rest of your life than feel better now and work harder for the rest of your life.

Don't get involved with relationships until you feel that you are ready for one. Just because your friends have boyfriends/girlfriends, don't feel pressured that you need one too if you are not ready. They will tell how much fun they are having, but they will not tell you how worse they are feeling.

I thought i was the only one who people never return money to. I have given money to so many and nobody returns and i can't say no. Now i am determined not to give anyone but still i have to wait and see if i can say no to the next person who asks for money.

My mother once said "IF YOU WANT SOMEBODY TO BE FAR FROM YOU, GIVE THEM SOME MONEY".

somethings I have learned after coming to US
Do's- Make education your first priority no matter what.
Friends are all you got here ( unless you have ur family ) so make sure you have good friends.
Don't- Never, Never, Never, Never use ur credit card unnecessarily. It piles up and you will have hard         time paying just minimum.

I kinda disagree about lending money. As I said friends are all you got in US, so friend in need is friend indeed. I don't know how close friends you guys are lending your money to, but from my personal experience, lend or borrow money but make sure you have enough trust on them. I have lend money to friends who haven't paid back yet, and I also have borrowed money from friends and haven't paid back yet but I still have those friends in contact and in good relationship because my friends know I will pay them back when I save enough or at least manage money from anywhere in case if they need it in emergency and that's what I expect form friends whom I have lend money to. Student huda it's hard to save money to pay back. That's just from my life experience, brothers, but If I was in ur place then I might have been saying same thing as you guys. All I say is if your good friend is about to get out of status because they don't have money to pay to college, show that u r there for him/her.

I completely agree with truthspeaker in terms of lending money !!!

I have taken money from so many friends and I am so thankful that they helped me when I really needed the money. In its true, a friend in need is a friend indeed. Friends are all you have when you are living abroad. All my friends my true financial status and all know that I will pay them the day I have money. And, I will. I will never forget their help. Without them I would not have been in the situation as I am in now.

Couple of my friend promised me to lent me some money but did not do so when I was in dire situation. That was painful coz it put me in a lot of trouble. I do not blame them. Coz, you cannot help everyone. But they should not have promised me. But, I am proud to say, they are still my good friend.

Seems like lots of people have been in problems with borrowing and lending money. I have given friends around $1500 and myself immersed in around $20,000 credit card debt.

Time to make a decision. Do i simply break my friendship for $1500 or do i even compare my friendship with the money I have given for friendship? I decided not to break things apart. They have my money which they haven't paid back. I would have pushed them harder if they actually had money and NOT paid me than having NOT paid because don't have money an they are in serious problem. currently they are not being able to pay back as promised but have good intension to pay back as their financial status improve. This may take from few days, weeks or even 10 years, who knows. This is something you should already think about before you lend money.

Friends are all you got here ( unless you have ur family ) so make sure you have good friends.
Absolutely no doubt on this.
