Hi guys!!

Sometimes Sajha looks pretty helpful. I now need some suggestion for a problem. I have got a ticket for leaving the scene of accident. In fact i diodn't know i have hit another car while backing but later i was pulled over and got the ticket. I have a court date and not sure what will be the consequence. I am not gonna accept my guilt and thinking of hiring a lawyer if needed, though i may not be able to afford it. This is the first time and i haven't got any tickets yet. Do you guys have any idea, what should i do, what may be the charges etc.? i will really appreciate any help.

Thanks

How bad you hit another car? What kind of damages are seen on the car you hit and your car? If it is only paint scratch, then you can say I didn't know I hit. If you hit it hard enough to blow the air bag and you say oh, I didn't know then the judge assumes either you were drunk or have audio problems. Both ways, your license could be suspended and you will be fined.

If you hit a car and you have to leave, you should make sure you leave your insurance policy number there with your phone number. Otherwise, charges could be many depending upon the person's intentions whose car was hit. Since it is your first time, you could be excused if you agree to fix the car you hit. Good luck bro.

Guys,

Belive me!!  My car doesn't have any scratch also. The another car has some scratcha not confirming. It turns out that there was a witness who has seen the accident , there was no sound or anything. I had felt something below my car but had not seen any collision or any touching that would let me suspect that i made any mistake. I have insurance so there was nothing to worry if i were known.

I am ok if it suspends my licence and fines but worried if it will put me in jail or something like that.

Thanks in advance for advice!!

Take it easy. Go to the trraffic court. Plead not guily. No lawyer required. Hear what the other party has to offer. Ask the judge about the accident. Tell them your innocence and that you have no idea what or when it occured.

But, if it was a serious accident, such as applying good amount of force, breaking the fender etc, and still if you plead not guilty, you will be screwed.

But if you ARE innocent. dont you worry at all. them sumbitches not getting a single hair outta you,
