I am inviting my parents over the States and I want to return date to be as flexible as it can be. Therefore, I wanted to purchase just one way ticket (KTM - US) for now. I referred a lawyer and he said one way ticket for B2 visa should be fine. However, I also heard that there could be problem at departure in KTM for B2 visas to have one way ticket. Does the KTM airport go through all that details and can also restrict travel? Does anyone know about this situation? Also, do the port of entry officer at arrival go through the return ticket and verify that? I would appreciate any information on regards to this.

Thanks,

you need to book round trip ticket from Nepal. i had very bad experience in my life that Nepal immigration officer not allowed during my brother first travel to US.

US immigration officer will not ask you although if you dont have round trip but in Nepal they may behave you badly so better book round trip ticket for your safe side.

Thank you very much for sharing. That was helpful. Any idea on if they were always strict about it or this started recently.

The CBP officer at POE asked me if I had a return ticket for my parents. He didn't ask me to show it though. So, better to buy it now. You can always change later.
