Dear [Client Name] (A# [XXXXXXXXX]),
We are writing to remind you to update your asylum case. On September 9, 2025, serious events occurred in Nepal. These new facts can help your case. U.S. asylum law lets you add new country-conditions evidence and a short update statement. (This is often called a “changed circumstances” update.)
The rules allow updates when country conditions shift. See 8 C.F.R. § 208.4(a)(4) and § 208.13.
What we need from you (please send within 14 days)
Your short statement (2–4 pages).
What our office will do
Draft a “Supplement to Form I-589” with your statement and evidence.
Add a short country-conditions summary with sources.
File it in the right place, depending on your case:
If your case is at USCIS (affirmative):
We will interfile the supplement with the Asylum Office and ask them to add it to your A-file.
If your case is in Immigration Court (EOIR/defensive):
We will file a Motion to Supplement the Record and serve DHS counsel.
