It was undoubtedly the most vicious attack carried out by Maoist after the ceasefire. Since it was to mark the first anniversary of Feb 1 and to mock the Gyanendra's Feb 1 speech, it is apparent that maoist did a robust preparation.

Looking into the scarcity of news about Tansen, it seems that govt is hiding something. Since Gynendra was exaggerating his achievements, his henchman would not dare to say that "petty crimes" have been escalated to the complete demolition of govt presence in palapa. . While Prachanda claims to have abducted CDO and police personnel, Ministry of defense report is silent about it. How many people died, how many are abducted and how many are still missing, there is nothing but contradiction in reports from various agencies.

I wonder if any sajhaites have hailed from tansen palpa. Have any one of you been able to have contacts to people in the vicinity (may be butwal) to get a more accurate, unbiased and descriptive report of Palpa attack.

I would appreciate any account about palpa attack. Thank you in advance.
