...A TRUE GENTLEMEN'S CLUB...
"Change the channel.... lets ......." mom had intervened.
I had flicked the channel to Star News, half listening to her. Gosh! That was hot. How much I wished I were just by myself. It was such a great sight. Helen, after all, was a fine dime and second to none when it came to cabaret dancing. And boy, did she know how to dress? Skimpy blouse and frock slit up all the way to the top. I was in my early sixteen and anything would turn me on. Watching Helen dance half naked was no less than watching a porno. It tickled me right there.
Those were the days gone by. Here I was today, paying the entrance fee for " DIVAS", a true gentleman's club. (no publicity intended)
I was always curious about sexuality. I found it very amusing. I simply couldn't resist it. Am I being a bit naive? Maybe not only me but also anyone of that age were vulnerable to sex and sexuality. Our Nepalese society is a conservative one and condemns any kind any kind of sexuality in any form. Maybe this further enhanced our curiosity towards this subject. Among friends we used to be very open about sexuality (maybe in not the right way) and opposite sex was always the main topic.
It had been 5 years and some change since my mom had told me to change the channel. This was my third year in the states and I was finally (and officially) a grown up who could smoke, drink, and make judgments on my own. Yet here I was today, forcefully dragged by my colleagues. I had always a feeling that I would end up visiting such exclusive club. But maybe this way not the right way, on a typical Saturday night without any plans. However, here I was, to ogle at yet another western achievement.
Five years ago, I had a piece of paper cut out of a magazine, Debonair (I still remember the name so clearly). If you are familiar with the magazine then you might recall that it had models posing topless. I had saved that piece for quite a while and it had served me a lot until a piece from Playboy came into my hand. I treated it like a treasure until I had to leave for the states when I passed it to a friend of mine who must have been very faithful to it.
So a topless bar was something far from reality back then. However, this was reality. Here I was, 11 o' clock on Saturday night and smelling good in the 'Calvin Klein' about to embark on a wild ride..........
