Hi guys,

In my recent school project we were asked to write a paper on 'Indian Railways', Going through it I was amazed to learn the impossile results attained by the non other than our very in/famous Lallu Yadav. I am sure most of you guys are aware still for those who missed the Laloo saga I am putting few excerpts.

When Yadav took over, the Indian Railways was a loss-making organization. The Rakesh Mohan Committee (headed by Rakesh Mohan,a western school graduate, secretary, department of economic affairs) had termed it a 'white elephant' and predicted that it World-famous Business Schools were amazed of the turnaround and they were keen to know how he did it. He addressed over a 100 students from Harvard, Wharton and others in Bojpuri Hindi. He has received invitations from 8 Ivy League schools to visit their schools as management expert/ Lecturer.

The turnaround of the Indian Railways is now being studied by the students of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad as well as the students all over the world.

My whole point of bringing up this story is that we who are being taught and trained in much hyped western colleges, paying outrageous sum of money and putting up enormous efforts. Are we going to be truly capable of handling the state of affairs back home in totally different culture, climate and scenario? Or should we rather accamatize ourselves in our own climate and culture in the shadow of prgmatic genius like Laloo in order to be able to undertand our very own soil and its mix successfully.
In retrospect if we evaluate all our predecessors , the so called western school graduates, from the likes of Dr. Tulsi Giri,Dr. Lohani, Dr. R.S. Mahat, Dr. Harka Gurung Dr. Shankar lamichhhane and numerous others who held the high post of Nepal Govt. from time to time.
Did anyone of them with their illustrious academic background were able to deliver any good to the hungry-illiterate-poor but self respecting honest citizen of nepal?
On the other hand a good for nothing illiterate bihari-bum has moved the mountain without any ivy league educational background. I am really perplexed , dazzled and ......
PLS Comment.

It's all Royalists' fault... wait until nepal has republic and the institutions will be stronger and we'll see a change. Agreed that those western school graduates couldn't do a whole lot, but remember the "pratigaman badis" that constantly tried to keep the constitution in their pockets...
So lets hope things will change in future
