KATHMANDU, May 3: In a move that could attract legal and constitutional ramifications, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has asked ´sacked´ army chief Rookmangud Katawal to continue, according to a president´s aide.
The president sent a letter to Katawal, asking him to continue in his office. Earlier in the day, a split cabinet had relieved Katawal from the post of army chief and appointed his number two in the Nepal Army, Lt Gen Kul Bahadur Khadka, as acting chief of army staff .
