i guess u gotta go to the control panel of the computer and uninstall it... i think thats how you could get it out and then install a new one... i hope dat helps answer ur question...

Just in case you needed a little more detail: Start --> Control Panel --> Add Remove Programs --> Select Yahoo Messenger from the list and click Remove. After removal, install the new one.
