hello sajhaians,

glad to be back after a while and back with some questions. i saw another thread regarding nursing and so want to give continuation expecting some suggestions. ok here's the situation:

my wife is now licensed RN from Nepal. she did her 3 yrs proficiency certificate nursing. now that she wants to continue her education in US as she can't work due to discontinuation of Schedule A program. she did her course evaluation here with several reputable credential evaluation agencies such as cgfns and wes. but they only evaluated her nursing education as US high school equivalency mainly due to the fact that the entrance requirement for the nursing program that she did was only SLC eventhough she did her 10+2. this means that she won't be able to transfer any of her nursing credits if she wants to pursue nursing education in US. so here are the questions:

1) what kind of nursing education would be best for her situation? many colleges offer different kinds of programs, such as LVN and then LVN-RN, or directly RN, or admit direclty to BSN. which option would be the best considering that the LVN takes only about 18 months and receive associate degree.

2) considering the fact that we might be getting our greencard by this year, would it make sense to first complete LVN, get a degree, then look for job? what's the job outlook for LVN?

3) is there any other option to transfer credit of her nursing education back from nepal?

4) or should she simply prepare for her NCLEX-RN examination and get licensed (she can sit for NCLEX-RN exam because of her RN license from Nepal)?

thanks much!
