What is your opinion about setting up a small section for posting good poems and proses here? You must have been aware of some world class poems posted here a few days ago. After a month, they will be in the morass of stacks of threads. Since they are purely creative stuffs, they deserve better treatment. It will also show that gbnc site is receptive to creative works. That this site values art work differently.
Please take this as my suggestion only. Think about this in the context of space availability, and suggestion of other wise people.
Congrats on adding the "picture" and video pages as well.
One of my joys has been watching this Site evolve for the better from point A to the present stage, wth your incorporating your ideas and others' suggestions.
As always, keep up the great work!! And I'm doing my best to publicize this Site among my friends so that we have more visitors and Web discussants.
I do have one comment: I notice that there is a big space empty right underneath the classified section. Could the classfied sectin pushed a little bit down, so that more discussion topics would be visible on the front page? See if this is a good idea.
I find the initial animation in the frame, where scattered letters get concentrated to be the list of menu in the right side psychologically disturbing.
Am I a lone perceiver or are other people also feeling the same way? I contacted some people in 'User Interface Design' class, and they also find it a retrogress in comparison to the former arrangement.
My suggestion is to reinstall former style. If other friends also suggest same way, please note.
Sorry for the complaint.I know, and want to repeat here, you are doing a great job.

Hi there, Thanks for your comments. I appreciate it. Actually I agree with you that the previous one without any animation was better. But, here's my 2 cent on why it's like this right now. We all know about the ongoing discussion on blasphemy in written english. This animation is sort of a 'techie blasphemy' that I indulged in to see the reaction among the visitors. This is how I know what the visitors like and dislike. If I don't try out these blasphemies, I would never know! Thanks again SP 3/5/2001
San di, don't you think we should have some music at this site?
"What about mine", said the megalomanic.
:
Hi Nuraj, We could do links but not file uploads since music files tend to be large. If you know some place where you could upload music then maybe link through the GBNC site, let me know. SP 3/3/2001
hey san dai! what happened to that live from kathmandu thing? that was cool.
Dear Dariwal Bhai, Hope things are going well for you. I am in the process of migrating that chat room to a bigger room…. Coming soon to a browser near you! SP 2/15/2001
hi San, There is an artical about the attitude of Nepalese women in Nepalihimal.com written bt Durga Pokhrel in the Himali font. I think that illustrates a section of the Nepalese society in the US. Can you do something about that. Thanks. Sangita
To Replace Old Events: We can post any recent event s or upcomming event s or as suggested by other reader picture s . Also, suggestions can be asked from other site GBNC visitors. Thanks for the response, SP.
05-Nov-00 : MoMo and Election 22-Oct-00 : General Meeting 13-Oct-00 : 2057 Dashain celebration party
28-Sep-00 : Movie: LAXMAN REKHA 13-Aug-00 : ANNUAL SUMMER BBQ 03-Aug-00 : PREMIERE of 35mm Nepali feature film DHUK DHUKI 08-Jul-00 : HONORING THE NEW GRADUATES Karodpati Movie Screening in Boston, March 23, 2000 Pharkera Ke Painchha? January 15, 2000
Can we just keep only the RECENT events there "Pharkera Ke Painchha? January 15, 2000" Is it not an old rather than a recent event? . May be we can eliminate almost all events from the Recent events section. Just my thought.

Thanks for the suggestion, makes sense to put the old events on another page. Any idea on what to replace it by? SP 1/7/2001
"Hrithik Roshan says he loves Nepal/Nepali ????" After couple of deaths, isn't it too late?
Hrithik row turns ugly -- 2 shot dead in Nepal Associated Press
Kathmandu, December 26: Nepalese police today shot dead two students who were protesting alleged anti-Nepal statements made by actor Hrithik Roshan. Nearly 5,000 students from half a dozen colleges in Kathmandu had blocked traffic and ransacked a movie theatre to protest Roshan's reported remark to a TV channel that the country and people he hated the most were Nepal and the Nepalese.
Policemen first fired in the air to avert arson by a mob at a theatre screening Roshan's latest film Mission Kashmir. After they were pelted with stones, policemen fired on the students, killing two.
Four policemen were also injured in the melee.
Back in Mumbai, Hrithik Roshan denied making any such remark. ``I have never given a TV interview to any channel, stating that I dislike Nepal and its people. It is a figment of imagination of some vested interests,'' he said. ``The fact is I love Nepal as I love India and have tremendous respect for Nepalese people.''
Did this site get record hit today? My record says from yesterday night to now,we have 400 hits! This is two times the normal hits.
Considering the hit rate for Kantipur publication was around 2000 per day until last July, it is tremendous progress to have so many hits a day.
Before Dec 13th Dec, I had set the counter to count homepage requests only. It showed around 100 requests per day. After 13th I set the counter to count all page views like most other sites do. SP 12/19/2000

Re: using Font face preeti in this board, it seems optimal font size should be +1 or 2, so your begin tag would look like <font face="Preeti" size="+1">
